White Water Rafting Montana

The Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Madison Rivers in southwest Montana offer some pretty exciting adventures. All three rivers have both whitewater and scenic/calm sections. Whitewater means thrills, excitement and getting wet. A scenic float can be calm, relaxing and very…well…scenic! For the most remote feeling whitewater trip, we recommend the Beartrap Canyon of the Madison River. More easily accessible (and shorter) trips are offered on the Gallatin and Yellowstone. We also strongly recommend doing a guided trip both for safety and the fun-factor. White water rafting Montana can be dangerous, please stay safe!

Below are our favorite local outfitters, check out their websites for tour costs, schedules, and options. Some offer zipline tours, river picnics, and horseback riding options as well.
