This cabin is by far the best we have stayed in. The views were breathtaking! And the cabin was very comfortable and stocked with everything you need

There were so many things that we loved about the home, too many to list. First, we loved the remote location. It was truly peaceful and relaxing. The home was also beautifully designed and spacious. Another important factor for us was the cleanliness- it was spotless. We were also very happy with how well stocked it was- especially plenty of towels, TP, paper towels, etc. The location was also very convenient to Yellowstone and fishing.

Mountain Home Rentals very nice job of making us feel welcome. Everything was very clean, and the home was stocked with everything we needed. Very quiet and very relaxing. The only downside is the road up to the cabin. Once you get up to the cabin you forget about the drive up. Will stay again if we are ever in the area.

Hyalite Creek Cabin was everything we had hoped for! It was spacious and charmingly decorated with comfortable beds and furniture. We spent every evening on the deck enjoying the cool mountain air and beautiful scenery, and we can honestly say that we never heard another person's voice or the sound of a vehicle. This cabin truly offers complete privacy and serenity! The staff was very pleasant and helpful when we got a bit lost on our arrival. Having said this, there is one thing that guests should know before reserving Hyalite Creek. We questioned other guests' comments about the difficult drive and were told that we should be fine in our Honda CRV. Since we are accustomed to driving rough gravel and dirt roads, we thought we'd have no trouble. However, this was not the case. Hyalite Road is very steep and rutted in places with large loose rocks, and the drive to the cabin is very steep and narrow with long drop-offs. We tried using lower gears, but still the car slowed to a crawl and was overheating by the time we reached the cabin every day. In addition, when the gate at the bottom of the drive needed to be closed, we couldn't stop the car inside the gate or it wouldn't make it up the drive. Our husbands had to walk up, which was very taxing even though they are both in excellent health. I believe the cabin info "recommends" 4-wheel drive vehicles, but I will say that it is absolutely NECESSARY. Thus the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
Quit, surene, peaceful and beautiful cabin.

The directions to the house where're perfect. Everything on the website was totally accurate. The house had more supplies then expected. ( paper towels, spices, plenty of bath towels :) We would recommend that the fry pans and pots be replaced as the Teflon was in bad shape and not usable. There where a few unexpected guests (mice) but it is remote so we dealt with them by laying out some traps. The views where amazing. We where close to a lot of activites, Yelowstone, horseback riding, fishing. But, removed enough not to have to deal with neighbors.
Lovely cabin but the road from the highway was worse than expect

The cabin exceeded my expectations. Lots of room. Comfortable furniture. Great views. The cattle grazing close to the house was a plus. Saw a black bear by the creek twice when driving down from the cabin. The big negative was the road - lots of rocks. The first couple of miles were like driving on a washboard. Bad enough to make us think twice about going anywhere due to worry of the wear and tear on our 4 wheel drive truck. Ironically, some grater work was done the day we left.
Amazing View!

What an amazing vacation! As mentioned in an earlier post - the drive to the house does require a vehicle with 4X4 capabilities for sure. However, when you pull into the drive way and walk on the deck - all that is forgotten. My family loved the morning views from the deck and enjoyed the proximity to Livingston, Yellowstone and Chico Hot Springs. Counting the days until our next visit!
