Arrived Livingston in middle of snow storm and was guided by a young lady on the phone from Mountain Homes, who was very patient and accurate. Arrived at cottage but no number on post, so had to guess and guessed right. We got out of the snow and into a large well appointed yet snug cottage with all amenities you could ask for. Spent 4 days there, going to Yellowstone which is about an hour away.

This is a great family friendly cabin with a wonderful hot tub on the Yellowstone River. It was perfect for our getaway and one of the nicer log cabin homes that we have rented. The area is very quiet and beautiful. There is a path through the willows to the river which is easily accessible for fishing. Every detail in the cabin is well thought out and easy for guests to use and enjoy.

The setting was nice but honestly did not enjoy every aspect of the home. Traffic noise from the highway for example. The upstairs beds were pretty uncomfortable as was the bed on the main floor. Noise seemed to carry very loudly from one room to another. Dogs barking across the road was a nuisance. Location was good, close to where we wanted to go.
Great place and location!

Loved the house and location but would have been nice if a kayak or fishing gear was included. However, house and location were terrific. About 35 minutes from Yellowstone!

This is a very well appointed, comfortable home. We stayed here for two weeks and really did not want to leave. We enjoyed the deer and bunnies right outside our door....the views were wonderful and the hot tub just great. Its about 20 miles to Livingston and about 30 to Yellowstone (north)...but the speed limit is 80!!! There are other houses around, but the noise was minimal. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Mountain Home personnel was very easy to work with. Our cleaning lady Ellen was very nice. It was pet friendly and ideal for our little dog to wander about.

Great home with lots of separate living spaces. Two very nice bathrooms. Very comfortable furniture and felt very cozy. well maintained. A bit of a drive (about 40 minutes) from Gardiner, MT- so if your destination is Yellowstone, you'll need to be okay w/driving.
So awesome

Cabin is great.. view is amazing.. wish we didn't have to leave. The only thing that I would change is having a TV upstairs in the dining area down stairs feels so secluded and you can't see outside.
Excellent beginning to end!

This is a great cabin, managed by a wonderful company. Very reasonable for the beautiful views! Close proximity to the river and Chico Hot Springs. The hot tub was amazing evening activity after a long day. Plenty of comfortable room for a large group. We loved the fact there was recycling and a washer/dryer! Can't think of one negative! Already thinking of planning our next getaway!

The information and directions provided were excellent. What a lovely log cabin--one of the very best we have stayed at, especially the hot tub!! The views and proximity to the Yellowstone River were both exciting and relaxing--sipping a beverage from the rocking chair on the veranda or from the hot tub. Eagles, geese, cedar waxwings, mourning doves were everywhere. Everything was spotless and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and lots of room for our family to be either all together--or space to hang out. The trip to Boiling River in Yellowstone was so great--what an experience. Thanks for the info--just don't forget to bring water shoes (and your camera). Lots of buffalo for entertainment as well. Thank you for such a wonderful holiday for our family.
Good fun with good friends!

Our stay at the Yellowstone Lookout Cabin was fantastic. From the very moment I emailed an inquiry about the availability until we left, we were treated like family. Both by the homeowner and the wonderful property management company, Mountain Home, and in particular, Allison. I was kept updated on the rules, the wonderful things to do in the area, how long it was until our vacation, etc. It seemed as if they were as excited as we were about our vacation. The home is so comfortable and even though we were at max occupancy of 8 people there was plenty of room. No one at any time felt as if we were tripping over each other. The weather at the time we stayed was extremely cold and snowy. The cabin stayed very comfortably heated by using the adorable gas stove. Going hot-tubbing in the snow while watching the two bald eagles soar over the Yellowstone River and surprising the two deer that came around the corner was a wonderful experience. We cooked all our meals at home and the kitchen was well stocked and even had brown sugar on hand, which was great since I had forgotten mine for the carmel rolls. We have only two regrets about our stay. One, due to the cold temperatures we did not venture into the Boiling Rivers in Yellowstone National Park (for sure on our next trip) and we had to leave after 3 days. We will be back and I will recommend this home to others. Thank you so much for a great girls weekend.

Though we have made many trips to Montana from Birmingham, Alabama; I would highly recommend a trip in the Winter. Every winter is unique and the scenary is different each visit. However for my family and I; the experience at the Yellowstone Outlook Cabin made this trip memorable. The cabin is very cozy and gives a family space after a long day of sledding, exploring, dog sledding and cross country skiing with so many places that are within an hour away! Secondly the Russells and the Mountain Home Staff were very accommodating. They ensured that are stay was special - thank you! This is truly a wonderful place where memories are made. If you are under the impression that the Summer in Paradise Valley/Yellowstone is the best time to visit - you are missing an opportunity of a lifetime in the Winter. Finally, the Lookout Cabin is the only way to go to make your trip a lifetime experience!

The Yellowstone Lookout Cabin was perfect. We stayed there for a week and didn't want to leave. We had 5 children under the age of 10 and 4 adults and there was plenty of space for everyone. We spent the bulk of our time on the wrap around porch soaking up the mountain view and enjoying the beautiful weather! The kids loved sleeping in the loft area and the downstairs family room was great for when us Adults wanted some quiet time to talk out on the deck. The home is very well appointed and has everything you need down to pantry essentials. The yard and path to the river are well kept and when we had a small issue with the sprinkler's being on constantly, our request was answered quickly. All in all, I will recommend this home to everyone who is interested in staying on the Yellowstone river!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend 2012. This cabin was a rare case where it was better than expected. The cabin was immaculate. The views are great and we had everything we needed. The staff at Mountain Home Rentals was very friendly and courteous. We will be back. If you only could have done a little with all the wind we had that weekend...
