Description

Large home with exquisite modern furniture and a great outdoor playground for the kids. Nestled in the foothills of the Hyalite Canyon, enjoy fantastic views of the entire valley, facing the Bridger Mountain Range.

Dogs are considered with owner approval and a fee. Please inform us at the time of booking of the number and age/weight/breed of the dog(s) you are planning to bring.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Black Bear Ranch is a large five bedroom, four and a half bath home that enjoys a prime location south of Bozeman with fantastic mountain views, lots of peace and quiet, and hiking nearby in Hyalite Canyon. The home sleeps 14 people and with two family rooms, there is plenty of indoor space. The backyard will be a favorite spot for your group – gas grill, outdoor dining table, outdoor seating arrangement, a hot tub, and a fully- equipped playground for the kids. There is also a pool table in the downstairs family room!

BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS: A large master bedroom with a king sized bed is on the main floor with a huge adjoining bathroom. The master bathroom has his and hers sinks, a walk-in shower, a soaking tub, and a walk-in closet. Above the garage is a second master suite with a king bed, day bed, and one sleeper sofa that can sleep one person if needed. On the main floor, a half- bath in the hall serves the kitchen and living areas. Up a half a flight of stairs on the other side of the house are two more bedrooms with queen beds. These two bedrooms share a hall bathroom with two sinks and a stall shower. Down a half a flight of stairs is a queen bedroom and a small den/office space. These two rooms share a bath with a vanity sink and a tub / shower. Also on this lower level is a second living room which has a sofa that sleeps and TV.

KITCHEN: This fully- equipped and well-designed kitchen has top of the line stainless steel appliances and amenities, high-end countertops, and custom cabinetry. A "Wolf" six- burner gas range, large side- by- side fridge, microwave, and dishwasher will please the chef in your group as well as the designated clean up crew. There is a nice selection of high- quality cookware and serving ware as well. The cook can chat with the family at the bar, which seats four, and there is a nice large pantry to store the groceries. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and has a modern dining table with 12 chairs, plenty of space for the entire group.

LIVING ROOM: The kitchen opens up into the living room with a stacked- stone fireplace, surrounded by cozy sofas and chairs, a TV with Roku, and a nice selection of games for the family to enjoy. There is a second entertainment room downstairs with a flat screen television, Roku TV, and a seating area with the sleeper sofa.

SETTING: A covered porch is off the living room – it overlooks the Gallatin Valley and features Loll Adirondack furniture. Doors from the master bedroom and the kitchen open up to the back patio. This fabulous space has an outdoor dining table that seats 6 people, a cushioned seating arrangement, and a hot tub! A nice gas grill allows for meal preparation outdoors, while you enjoy a glass of wine and the comfortable summer evening temperatures of Southwest Montana. The kids will love the playground with its slide, swings, forts and sand box with big tire and toys. The views of the Bridger Mountains across the valley are spectacular too.

AIRPORT: Downtown Bozeman is just six miles and it’s about fourteen miles to Bozeman's airport.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES: Besides hiking and mountain biking on nearby trails in the Leverich Canyon, fishing on the Gallatin River is just thirty minutes away. The stunning Hyalite Reservoir Recreation Area in the Gallatin National Forest is a short drive away. Guests can also spend time skiing at nearby Bridger Bowl, which is about 20 miles from the home. Horseback riding, rafting, golfing, tours of Yellowstone National Park and everything that the town of Bozeman has to offer!

This home was everything we could have asked for and more. We visited Bozeman from Canada for the Kenny Chesney concert and honestly this house made our trip so great! We had 5 couples staying and never felt crowded. It was equipped with everything we needed and the view was surreal. The pics on the listing looked great, but this was one of those that was actually even better when we got there to see it in person. If we’re ever back in the area, we will most definitely stay here again. Would recommend to anyone who has a large group!

This house was great! The house is located in a nice neighborhood. It had everything we were looking for. The house has fabulous views. We absolutely loved the master bedroom was away from other parts of the house. It was nice and quiet. We were also impressed that the hot tub was kept clean. The kids even enjoyed playing in the yard and on the play set.

We recently stayed at Black Bear Ranch for our son’s wedding. We had ten guests - most of us extended family - ages 3 months to 70 years. This property is perfect in so many respects. There is plenty of space to spread out and privacy in the bedrooms. It is equipped with absolutely everything and anything you could possibly want to make your stay a pleasant one. It is obvious that much care has been taken to think of things that would enhance the stay for guests. The pantry is well stocked, the kitchen is wonderful to work in and has every appliance and utensil one could want. The place was spotlessly clean and the hot tub was also. The property and the neighborhood are lovely and provide plenty of opportunities to go for walks or runs and just be outside. We feel very lucky to have stayed at this property and would certainly return.

Our family of 14 celebrated our covid delayed 50th anniversary at Black Bear Ranch- we had an awesome week!! There was plenty of room for families to spread out, yet we also enjoyed the front porch , kitchen area and back deck. The kids loved the pool table and basement TV. We were busy most days touring the area but looked forward each evening to gathering in our comfortable home away from home. Highly recommend!!!

Our family of 14 had a great time! Just sitting,looking out at view,seeing deer walking thru pasture and the Magpie! Hiking several hikes in Hyalite Canyon, visiting Yellowstone in 3 separate vehicles and exploring downtown Bozeman and the Museum. We liked the Bee store:) The house was spacious,plenty of room! Kids liked the basement! Kitchen was perfect for meals and conversation!

Our family just returned from three weeks at Black Bear Ranch. Two sons, daughters in law, two grandsons and dogs and the house could not have been any more perfect! The playground and sandbox were a huge hit with the kids and the front porch and back patio were a great place for a cocktail after work! Four people worked from home and the internet never failed us once! The linens were top notch, the towels plentiful and the pantry was stocked! Many interesting books for both adults and children...The bedroom setup made it easy for the family of four to have their own “wing” . We could have used some supplies to clean the beautiful hardwood after 10 days or so, but other than that, it was perfection. Mountain Home was very responsive too, when we locked our key in the house!

What a wonderful space. Beautiful, comfortable, clean and a perfect headquarters for visiting all the gorgeous places around Bozeman, including Hyalite Canyon, just down the road from the house. The home is in a community of homes on very large lots, so it feels private, but its not far from town. The house has everything you could want, from spacious rooms to a lovely kitchen and a shower for two. It's deluxe!

Very nice quiet home comfortable and nicely furnished! I would love to come stay again. Garage was a nice feature and was a great way to start each day.

Large home with land south of Bozeman

My family and I stayed here while looking for a house of our own to purchase in Bozeman. The home was clean, with lots of space. There are effectively 6 bedrooms as there is an extra suite over the master bedroom with a king bed and its own bathroom. Perfect for a large group. Our young kids loved the playground and large yard (about 2 acres). About a 10-15 min drive into town. We made it to Big Sky in about an hour. The house has a large mud room that was perfect to store skis and snow clothes. The kitchen was also great for those who want to cook large meals. High end appliances. Highly recommend for families!

Our group of 7 had a fabulous time staying here. There was plenty of room for everyone to have some privacy and a bonus to have so many bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed staying in and cooking together. Loved the hot tub! My only recommendation would be to have window coverings in the upstairs master bedroom, for those who like it dark for sleeping. Also, the guest book had so much great information on the area. We will definitely recommend this house to others!
