BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Elk Crossing is a great base camp for exploring the Yellowstone area. It’s just 8 miles to the park entrance, is surrounded by national forest trails for hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling, and it’s a short drive to a quiet cove on Hebgen Lake. With 1700 square feet of living space and an open floor plan to the kitchen, dining area and great room, it’s a very comfortable home for your group. There’s an attached two car garage for guest use.

BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS: The home has three bedrooms and two baths. The master has a king size bed, views to the mountains, your own door to the deck, and a fabulous master bath with a walk in rainforest shower and a large jetted soaking tub. At the other end of the house are two additional bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with two twin beds. They share a full bath with tub and shower.

KITCHEN/DINING: This is a great kitchen for a group as it opens to the bar, the dining area, and the living room. It’s equipped with all everything you need to cook and entertain, including a smooth top electric range, tons of serving pieces and picnic ware, and small appliance extras like a crock pot, electric mixer and blender. The dining table seats six comfortably and the bar accommodates another four. There’s also a dining table and a barbecue for enjoying outdoor meals on the back deck.

LIVING ROOM: The great room has a gas fireplace with a rock hearth, a flat screen HD TV with satellite service, a beautiful knotty pine cathedral ceiling and comfy seating. Huge picture windows let in lots of natural light and a door just past the dining table leads to the back deck!

SETTING: Elk Crossing is set in the meadow of a quiet, woodsy vacation home neighborhood about 8 miles west of West Yellowstone, which is the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It sits on one half acre and enjoys incredible views of Lionhead Mountain and other peaks along the Continental Divide. You’re likely to see elk, moose, and maybe even a bear in this beautiful wild area!

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: The large back deck is perfect for morning coffee and for dinner with a sunset view of the mountains. Two chaise lounges are there for when you want to just do nothing. For snowmobilers, there’s a two car garage for parking your rigs.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES: In winter you can snowmobile right from the house and get onto hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails. If you prefer Nordic skiing, West Yellowstone’s Rendezvous Trails are a short drive away, and you can explore Yellowstone Park by snow coach. In summer there’s hiking and mountain biking right out the door, fishing on blue ribbon streams, boating on Hebgen Lake, and of course – day trips into Yellowstone Park. There’s so much to do!

AIRPORT: You are 8 miles from the town of West Yellowstone, 90 miles from Bozeman’s Gallatin Field Airport and 110 miles from Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Really nice house. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and more. Great location; close to town and Yellowstone entrance. Would certainly rent again in the future.

Clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the fireplace. We were able to see two yearling moose eat from the kitchen window.

Very comfortable and convenient to West Yellowstone. House was spotless. Only negative was a bird's nest under the eaves outside the door onto the deck. The bird poop attracted so many flies we couldn't use the deck at all. Overall, a very nice place to stay

Manager's Response

We are glad that overall you thought it was a very nice place to stay. We are sorry to hear about the bird's nest and the affect that it had on the deck. Though in the end we are happy that it worked out well.-MHteam

Nice home about 15 minutes from Western park entrance and 10 minutes to West Yellowstone town. Nicely equipped and furnished, as clean as pictured and helpful extras like laundry detergent. Highly recommend for up to 6 people. Team at Mt. Home is great to work with -- very responsive. We arrived in WY early and Mt. Home gave us access at 4pm vs. 5pm which was much appreciated.

Manager's Response

We aim to please at Mountain Home and are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Like you, we understand that things change in life and that is why we try to accommodate our customers in anyway possible. -MHteam

This property was wonderful! It was everything described and more! It is beautiful and very well equipped. Linens, dishes, kitchen were all first class. We appreciated the attention to details like night lights, lip balm and body lotion in bathrooms! It was so delightful to sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful view! Its proximity to Yellowstone made it even better.

Manager's Response

Hello Christine - Thank you for your kind words about Elk Crossing! As new owners & managers of the home, we are busy trying to make it as comfortable and up to date as possible. We're glad that you appreciated what we've been working on for our guests. Please come back and stay with us again! - MH Team

Great place to stay which was a short distance to the town of West Yellowstone and the Park

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Being out of the town allowed us to see the countryside, the beauty of the Aspen trees and a mule deer outside the kitchen window early one morning. Since we did have a few rain showers during our stay, the attached garage was extremely helpful when loading and unloading the car. This is a property that we would recommend to our friends and anyone else traveling to West Yellowstone.

Manager's Response

Hello Donna - Thank you so much for being our guests and for your comments about the home. We agree that it's a beautiful spot. We are new managers and there is a new owner of the property, so we are making updates to both the amenities and décor. We hope you can come stay again sometime, either here at Elk Crossing or at another home that we care for. - MH Team

I've stayed at another house and this one was just as great as the last! Clean, close to town, and well-kept! It was filled with snow around and it looked awesome...they plowed it and we're from Texas so fell in love right away. The set up was perfect and plenty of room! I want to stay here again...the drive in to the great town of West Yellowstone was a straight shot...again...loved this house and close proximity to Yellowstone! Can't wait to stay again.

Manager's Response

Stephanie, we are so glad you all enjoyed your snowy stay! Elk Crossing definitely steals the hearts of its guests. We can't wait to have you back! Shall we start planning now? :) -MH Team
