BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Nestled in the trees on a clifftop overlooking Wade Lake, this cozy mountain home on the private Madison River Ranch is the ultimate retreat. Kick back and relax or get out and explore! Wade & Cliff Lakes are at your feet, the fabled Madison River at Three Dollar Bridge borders the front of the ranch, and Yellowstone National Park is just a short 37 mile drive away. Swimming, boating, hiking, and world class fly fishing abounds. Privacy and proximity gives you the best of both worlds!
BEDROOMS AND BATHS: Wade Lake Overlook has two bedrooms and one full bath. The upper floor, which is the main living area, has one bedroom with a queen size bed, and just a few steps away is a bath with shower. On the lower level is a bedroom with two twins. If needed there is additional sleeping space on a queen sleeper sofa in the lower level media room.
KITCHEN: A wonderful cook’s kitchen awaits you! It’s stocked with all the tools you’ll need for a great stay, and the finishes, even a bamboo counter top, are surprisingly high end. All stainless appliances include a KitchenAide gas range with double oven, side by side fridge, and a dishwasher. There is a bar counter for chatting with the cook, and the dining table is just off to the side. There is also a gas barbecue just out on the rooftop deck for your outdoor grilling.
DINING AREA: There dining table that will seat six comfortably. There is also a picnic table on the lower deck for fresh air dining.
LIVING ROOM: The living room has a mix of interesting artwork, rustic New England antiques and comfortable furniture for relaxing at the end of your day. Or step through the glass door and enjoy the seating on the rooftop deck for the best cocktail hour views ever! On the main level of the home is the additional media room with a 42” Vizio HD TV, an assortment of DVDs and Netflix setup.
OFFICE: If you need to do a bit of work during your stay, you’ll enjoy the very functional office setup in a nook off the livingroom.
LAUNDRY: There are a washer and dryer as well as laundry supplies for guests use.
SETTING, ACREAGE, AND VIEWS: Wade Lake Overlook is 20 private acres along a treed ridgeline that offers incredible views down to Wade Lake. The ranch is home to elk, deer, eagles and even the occasional bear has been spotted. It’s beautiful wild country!
OUTDOOR AMENITIES: Upper and lower decks that overlook Wade Lake, a double hammock in the trees overlooking the lake for reading and afternoon naps, hikes down to the lake, and walks from the house that offer views of the beautiful Gravelly Mountain Range.
CLOSEST TOWN AND AIRPORT: You are 37 miles from West Yellowstone and 95 miles from Bozeman’s airport (BZN).
ACTIVITIES NEARBY: Fishing and boating on Wade and Cliff Lakes (the Montana state record brown trout at 29 pounds came out of Wade Lake!), fly fishing on the fabled Madison and other local rivers, swimming, hiking, and day trips to Yellowstone National Park (37 miles away) are all waiting for you.
