Big Sky is a wonderful destination for both avid mountain bikers and those looking to get into the sport for the first time. Big Sky Resort Mountain Biking Trails
Over the summer, Big Sky Resort transforms from a skier's paradise to biking haven. The resort provides access to approximately 50 miles of hiking and biking trails, and it has the area's only lift-serviced mountain biking trails. The lifts you'll use to reach the trails typically operate from 10 AM to 5 PM, and they are the Ramcharger 8, Swift Current 6 and Explorer 2 lifts.
Big Sky Resort breaks down their mountain bike trails into two distinct categories: Freeride and Technical. Freeride trails are often composed of man-made features (i.e. jumps, wooden paths, etc.) mixed in with natural trail sections, and they are downhill-exclusive. Technical trails can include extra man-made features, but they mostly go with the flow of the natural landscape. Many technical trails are also bi-directional, meaning they can be ridden up or down.
