My brother and I have spent a few days fishing the Gallatin Canyon for the last 23rd year in a row, and while we've stayed at a number of fantastic places either on, or near, the river, none has been so capitvating as the Eagle River House, which lived up to name as each morning and evening we watched bald eagles fly past the deck of the bunkhouse. There were four of us who stayed there recently: the large bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms, and open spaces allow us to stretch out in complete comfort. The kitchen, where we prepared all of our meals, was impressive and gave us the opportunity to whip up some incredible dishes that would make a five star restaurant envious. Lucy's Cabin, known as the Bunkhouse, was where I spent most of my time when I wasn't fishing on the river, either relaxing on the deck, which over hangs the river, or sleeping in the comfort of the cabin with the windows thrown wide open, the cool mountain air rushing into the room, accompanied by the sound of the river thundering through the canyon. The fishing on the Gallatin was incredible as well. The first three days my brother and I shared catch rates of as many as 15 fish p/hr., including an abundance of fat bodied 12" to 15" trout with the biggest being a 19" brown taken on size #14 Royal Wulff. Since returning from Montana, I often escape to memories of the Eagle River House when I need a moment of solace. Thanks Emily for all of your help. I hope to be there again next year.

Had a way too short vacation here. The Lodge has everything you might need for an excellent stay. Really all you need to do is stop at a grocery store and move in. The river is just a few steps outside the back door and I fell asleep listening to the river through the open windows. It’s a beautiful house and we absolutely loved our visit.
Manager Response:

This home is a gem! Our family loved the natural beauty of the land and the flow of the space works so well for our group of four adults and four kids with plenty of privacy and room to lounge, play, rest and cook some great meals together. The house has all the luxuries you would find in a posh contemporary home set right on the river with beautiful trees and ravines that make you feel tucked far into the woods when you're just a quick drive over to Big Sky and Bozeman. The kids just loved having their own cabin which was cozy and safe. The main house was a true, luxurious gatherng space for family meals and great memories to be made by the warm fireplace. The kitchen is a cook's dream, the beds are cozy, the wifi is reliable, the appliances are top notch and the closets are huge. You can truly relax in this home, which is in such a beautiful part of the world with every modern amenity. We plan to return and offer our highest recommendation for the Eagle River Lodge!
